Introductions were made.
Participants shared experience with or understanding of Professional Development Schools, their mission and possibilities
Various discussion points ensued:
To provide pre-service teachers with a richer experience
To hold courses at school meeting sites for cohorts
Schedules of schools would be clear. i. e. block,
Pre-determined and focused set of expectations
Understanding the schools’ curriculum and schedule
Potential for internships
Possible focus points:
Technology workshops and follow-up
Creativity- broad rather than content based
Benefits:
On-going partnership
Improved communication
Develop Relationships
Two way street- of benefit to both parties
In planning
· Sending a team of two school and two university committee members to the National Professional Development School Conference in New Orleans in March.
· Stephanie Reid will begin a bolg for ongoing discussion and news and idea sharing
· A potential PDS liaison would be ideal at each school (middle and High school)
